Seasonal Flu Shots INCREASE Risk of Symptomatic COVID-19 Infections

COVID19 RESPONSE PLATFORM – Research from 2012, published here on the NCBI website (“Increased Risk of Noninfluenza Respiratory Virus Infections Associated With Receipt of Inactivated Influenza Vaccine”), concludes that children who received the seasonal flu vaccine had a much higher risk of getting ill from other viruses, including “coronavirus“, as the vaccine reduced their immune system.

For us, there is no reason to assume that this is different for adults.

“We randomized 115 children to trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (TIV) or placebo. Over the following 9 months, TIV recipients had an increased risk of virologically-confirmed non-influenza infections (relative risk: 4.40; 95% confidence interval: 1.31-14.8). Being protected against influenza, TIV recipients may lack temporary non-specific immunity that protected against other respiratory viruses,” the researchers state.

What is relative risk?

“Relative risk is a ratio of the probability of an event occurring in the exposed group versus the probability of the event occurring in the non-exposed group,” according to the NCBI website.

In this case the two groups are: Children who got the flu vaccine and children who received a placebo instead.

The study claims that the relative risk is 4.40.

What does that mean?

It means that it is 4.40 times more likely to have a lowered immune system when you receive the seasonal flu shot, compared to people who do not receive the seasonal flu shot.

The study clearly states that flu shot recipients may lack immunity that would normally protect them against other respiratory viruses, including coronavirus.

The researchers detected “coronavirus, human metapneumovirus, parainfluenza, respiratory syncytial virus” in children who got the seasonal flu vaccine.

It also states that “there was no statistically significant difference in the risk of confirmed seasonal influenza infection between recipients of TIV or placebo“. Meaning that the flu shot doesn’t reduce symptomatic infections (influenza) to any measurable extent (the flu shot itself is, thus, insignificant).
